The collection consists of one typescript copy of a LeConte family genealogy prepared by Emma LeConte Furman; a manuscript notebook (1880) of Walter LeConte Stevens entitled Records of the LeConte family; one ALS, dated March 21, 1823 from A. L. Baker in Savannah, Georgia to sister Ann E. Stevens; a printed memorial (1867) to Annie L. C. Stevens [Ann LeConte Stevens]; manuscript pages of a Coat of arms of the LeConte family; and three newspaper clippings regarding the sainthood of Elizabeth Ann Seton.

Emma Florence Le Conte Furman (1847-1932) married Farish Carter Furman (1846-1883) in 1869. They lived on the family plantation at Scottsboro, near Milledgeville, Georgia. Her diary of Columbia, South Carolina before and after the devastation by Sherman's forces was edited by E.S. Miers and published as When the World Ended (N.Y.: 1957).
